Choosing Harmony and Peace in Your Daily Life
by Laura Bonilla
Spiritual Coaching and Hypnotherapy
If you let your mind run your life, you’re in big trouble. For the most part our minds run
on automatic pilot, based on old tapes that got in there when we were growing up.
Our minds also have old tapes of behaviors we have reinforced and continued playing
for many years. I’m taking about old tapes that play the “life is hard” or “everyone
hates me” or “why doesn’t God listen to me”, and hundreds more similar to these.
These old tapes include the behaviors of choosing to be hurt, or becoming angry easily,
or being fearful of everything in life, or having a mind that is always going at 100
miles per hour. I’m sure you recognize your own old tapes by now.
The key to Harmony and Peace is to take control of your mind. One way to do this, it’s
by becoming an observer of your own life and mind. When you start observing your own
thoughts, paying attention to what’s running through your mind and how you’re reacting
to people and situations, you will discover something very interesting. By becoming
the observer, the mind looses power. The observer in you is your Spirit, your Soul.
That Soul needs to take over the grip of the mind in order for you to find harmony
and peace. By being the observer you begin to detach from the old tapes because you’re
more present in every experience and every event, and when you’re more present, you
remain calm and peaceful because you remember that in the big picture of life, most
of what upsets you, it’s not worth it.
Another way to take the control of your mind is by looking at your life as if today
is your last day on Earth, or the last day you will be with your loved ones. What if
you knew this? Would you still react to things the way you normally do? Probably not.
You would probably would like to enjoy life to the fullest. Why wait until the last day,
start now. It’s your choice. You are a Spiritual Being having a human experience, let
the experience be totally fulfilling and harmonious and abundant.
